MANILA -- The country's leading digital services provider PLDT Home recently partnered with the world's top ride-sharing company Uber in bringing a “richer digital lifestyle” and transportation experience to Filipino commuters.

MANILA -- The country's leading digital services provider PLDT Home recently partnered with the world's top ride-sharing company Uber in bringing a “richer digital lifestyle” and transportation experience to Filipino commuters.

The strategic partnership between Uber and PLDT Home allows subscribers to enjoy the perks of Uber's innovative transport services by simply downloading the app on their Telpads, computers, and smart devices

Various freebies await PLDT HOME subscribers who are also first-time Uber riders. PLDT Home Fibr subscribers can avail of two free Uber rides worth P500 each, while Telpad and DSL subscribers can get one free ride worth P300. This promo starts on October 1.

According to Gary Dujali, vice president of PLDT and head of HOME marketing, the partnership with Uber is part of PLDT Home's thrust to providing a richer digital lifestyle to their consumers.

“PLDT HOME and Uber share the same vision of providing our customers with digital solutions that add value to their daily lives, in this case, safe, reliable and affordable rides within Metro Manila. We are confident that this partnership will break new ground in the country’s digital landscape,” Dujali said.

PLDT's mobile subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. has also rolled out free Wi-Fi in selected Uber cars. It has also launched special promos for its subscribers who use the Uber app.

Currently the country's biggest digital services provider, PLDT owns the most expansive fiber optic network in the Philippines, which spans up to 100,000 kilometers. In the first half of 2015, PLDT Home proved its strong grip to the industry with a market share of 70%. PLDT Home continually grows as it boosts its broadband service by offering various digital services to over 75 million clients.
