Manila, Philippines – After the dramatic coronation of 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach in Las Vegas, the whole nation now eagerly awaits the homecoming of the most talked about beauty queen today.
Wurtzbach bested 79 women from various parts of the globe to claim the country’s third Miss Universe title. She follows in the footsteps of Gloria Diaz who won in 1969 and Margie Moran who brought home the crown in 1973.
"We are among the millions of Filipinos who are very excited to welcome home our very own PLDT HOME DSL ambassadress, and now, Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach,” PLDT VP and HOME Marketing Director Gary Dujali said.
In a courtesy call at the PLDT headquarters right after the 2015 Bb. Pilipinas pageant, Wurtzbach said, “I’m happy to be part of the PLDT HOME family. I share the same values with the brand and I’d like to use my influence to promote family bonding. Sharing my time with my family is most important for me as it strengthens my connections with them. “
Dujali added, “Pia has been with us throughout the year as we aggressively went around the country bringing the family-sized broadband connection of HOME DSL to more Filipino homes nationwide. Just like our very own Miss Universe, we want to help build the strongest connections at home through our number one broadband HOME DSL.”
Majority of PLDT subscribers nationwide (38%) still prefer to pay through SSCs. Other preferences are through banks (12%), internet (20%), and other payment channels (30%).
In 2014, then-Bb. Pilipinas Universe MJ Lastimosa also travelled around the country to promote the benefits of a strong and reliable family-sized connection from HOME DSL. The brand is expected to not only bring beauty queens but more inspiring personalities across the nation as it continues to bring its services closer to more Filipino homes.
Wurtzbach is set to come home on January 23, with a scheduled visit to PLDT during her stay.
