What is Fiber Always On?
Fiber Always On is a new service from PLDT Home that ensures continuous internet access, even during fiber outages. It utilizes a dual-WAN Fiber modem with auto-failover, seamlessly switching to wireless backup to provide unlimited data access.
Who can avail of Fiber Always On?
Always On is currently available to existing PLDT customers whose contracts are already outside lock-in and are using Fiber facilities without any outstanding balance. Additionally, customers must verify the strength of their LTE signal at their residence, ensuring their location is included in the list of areas with strong LTE coverage and sufficient capacity.
How much does it cost? What is the breakdown of the charges?
Fiber Always On is priced at ₱299 per month and includes a new WiFi6 modem with Unli Fiber and Unli LTE.
Fiber Always On subscription is ₱149 per month and an amortized installation fee of ₱150 month for 36 mos. After 36 mos, you will only be billed ₱149/mo.
Where can I avail Fiber Always On?
Fiber Always On can be availed through our various Sales Channels including PLDT Website, Hotline, 170, Direct Marketing messages from PLDT Home and PLDT Deals, Telesales Callouts and SSCs.
Can I still use the UNLI LTE even if my Fiber is available?
No, you cannot. The UNLI LTE included in your Fiber Always On service will only apply if your Fiber is unavailable.
If I’m already outside lock-in period with PLDT and interested in availing this service, will I be re-locked in?
Yes, once you avail Fiber Always On, you will be re-locked in for another 36 months.
What is the speed of my back-up WiFi?
LTE is used over 5G because it's more widely compatible with devices, and the modem supports CAT6 for faster speeds. LTE can range from 10 Mbps to 100 Mbps, with average speeds around 30-50 Mbps. Actual speed depends on factors like signal strength and your home's layout. Thick walls, lack of windows, or other obstacles can impact signal quality. Our team will ensure the modem is placed in the optimal location during installation for the best performance.
I already have an existing modem, why do I need a new one for the Fiber Always On service?
Fiber Always On service is specifically designed to work with a dual-WAN modem which means it has a wired UNLI fiber and wireless UNLI LTE. Your Fiber Always On service comes with the latest WiFi6 dual-wan modem which is designed to deliver enhanced reliability and performance.
Why do I need a WiFi6 modem?
WiFi6 is the latest technology for faster and more reliable internet. It handles multiple devices better, so if you have a lot of gadgets connected at once, you’ll notice smoother performance—whether for streaming, gaming, or work. Can I bring my new modem to a different address?
No, you may not. The new modem replaces your existing modem and will only work with your account and registered installation address.
Will my Cignal service and Landline work when connected to LTE?
No, your Cignal Add Ons and Landline will be temporarily unavailable once connected to the backup service. However, your WiFi Mesh and other connected devices and streaming platforms will still work.
How will I know that my LTE signal is working? Where exactly can I see it?
On your modem, there's an LTE signal light indicator that turns green when your Fiber signal is down.
Why is my Fiber unavailable?
Fiber cuts are due to many reasons such as extreme weather events, construction work, vandalism or theft, and scheduled maintenance and system updates.
Why do I need Fiber Always On?
The key benefit is uninterrupted connectivity. With automatic switching, you don’t have to reconnect devices—WiFi is seamlessly delivered through the same modem.
