Remember the good ol’ days when we couldn’t wait to get home from school
so we could play on Facebook? When logging on to our profiles became more
than just updating our statuses, spending hours on Facebook games was the
childhood pastime for us and many of our friends.
Let’s go on a trip down memory lane with these games!
You have to admit, going online and loading Facebook would’ve been
much smoother if we had more powerful connections by
PLDT Home WiFi back then!
Which one of these did you play?
Backyard Monsters
From
BYMU Fandom Wiki
In the 2010 video game Backyard Monsters, initially launched as Desktop
Creatures by Kixeye, players can build, manage, and protect a monster base
in their own backyard. One of the oldest Facebook games that users
consistently liked, this game bid farewell on December 31, 2020, along
with other Facebook flash games. Although iOS and Android versions of the
game were also released, the clamor for the original couldn’t be
helped.
FarmVille
From
Zynga Official Website
Were you really into Facebook games if you didn’t play FarmVille at
least once? Introduced in 2009, this viral game allows players to
cultivate their own farms by plowing, planting, and harvesting crops and
trees. Keep in mind the days when you could also look after farm animals!
We learned a lot from this game, to be honest. That’s why many users
consider this one of the best Facebook games ever! To date, it still lives
on in the FarmVille franchise, with FarmVille 2 still available on
Facebook Gaming and FarmVille 3 on iOS and Android.
Hotel City
From
Life at Playfish
If you ever wished to design or stay at a luxurious hotel, this game was
probably your favorite. When Playfish launched it in 2010, it challenged
players to create and operate their ideal hotel while climbing the ranks
and adding new features. Many users can still picture the chambers they
created with their high walls and golden chandeliers!
Pet Society
From
Life at Playfish
A game was specially designed for animal lovers, Pet Society by Playfish
lets players take care of virtual pets by dressing them up, designing
their house, and visiting friends’ pets. Additionally, users could
customize them by selecting genders, names, colors, and differentiating
features. Playfish and Electronic Arts created Pet Society in 2008, but
the service was discontinued in 2013.
Restaurant City
From
Life at Playfish
Can you still recall when you used to be the proprietors of our own
virtual eateries? We changed into restaurant owners, chefs, and servers
thanks to this game! Playfish created Restaurant City in 2009 as a
Facebook game, with the objective of running a restaurant and leveling up
while bringing in more clients. The possibilities were endless for
players, and it became a huge hit. Sadly, the game's operations came to an
end in 2012, but we still have great memories playing restaurateur!
Tetris Battle
From
Tetris Wiki
Are you one of those people who became engrossed with Tetris Battle? Just
as addicting as it was first introduced in the 1980s, this Facebook
version created by Tetris Online, Inc. in 2010 was a multiplayer game that
lets users compete against each other and challenge their friends online.
It had seven different game modes, including Arena, Battle 2P+, Battle 2P,
Marathon, Battle 6P, Sprint, and Sprint 4P. It was retired in 2019, but
avid fans can still play other versions on several other platforms.
