Keanu Reeves reprises his role as Neo in the fourth installment of one of the most iconic sci-fi action films of all time. Neo, now Thomas Anderson, is a successful video game developer with no memory of the Matrix. However, the vestiges of his persona as Neo slowly return as he stops taking the blue pill, which his therapist prescribed to him. Also returning to reprise their iconic roles are Carrie-Anne Moss and Jada Pinkett Smith. Yahya Abdul Mateen II takes over for Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus, while Lana Wachowski makes a comeback without her sister Lilly with whom she co-directed the initial trilogy. The Fast and Furious family is back in the 9th installment of the long-running film franchise. This time, the ghosts of Dominic Torreto’s past return to haunt him as he faces off with his estranged yet equally competent brother Jakob, played by wrestling superstar John Cena. Despite Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham’s departure from the original storyline, F9 doesn’t fall short on action and big-name stars. Returning to the storyline is one of the franchise’s beloved characters Han Lue played by Sung Kang, who was initially believed to be dead. While Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russel, and Charlize Theron reprise their roles, Helen Mirren also joins the cast from the Hobbs and Shaw spin-off. Once again, James Wan displays his visual ingenuity with an homage to classic B-movies in this campy suspense horror. After violently losing her husband to an unseen assailant, Madison Lake begins seeing visions of the killer as the latter goes about hunting down seemingly random victims. Disturbed by these visions, Madison goes to the police, only to become the prime suspect in these murders. Peaky Blinders’ Annabelle Wallis stars as Madison, alongside Maddie Hasson and George Young.
