One of South Korea’s Heartthrobs who’s famous for his good looks and charm is Song Joong-ki! He has cemented himself as one of the biggest Korean actors of his generation through his excellent acting in critically-acclaimed dramas. His debut was in the 2008 film A Frozen Flower. Then, he started gaining more popularity for his role in the historical drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal in 2010. However, in 2016, Joong-ki captured people's hearts globally with his role as Captain “Big Boss” in the hit series Descendants of the Sun– where he also met his now ex-wife Song Hye-kyo.
Fast-forward 2023, Joong-ki announced on Monday, January 30, he has married his British actress girlfriend Katy Louise Saunders and that they are expecting their first child. The announcement was made through the actor’s official fan café
according to Korean pop culture website Soompi.
The news comes a month after Joong-ki’s agency confirmed that he is in a relationship.
