The end of the Roy family saga is here. The fourth season of Succession is also its last, and it’s a bitter pill for many fans to swallow. However, it’s precisely the creative ending that Jesse Armstrong, its showrunner, had planned for this Emmy Award-winning show, and we are definitely here for it!
So, while we mourn the loss of one of our favorite shows in recent memory, let’s take a look back at some of the most satisfying and gut-wrenching moments that made Succession such a fan-favorite.

Season 1: Vote of No Confidence

The first few episodes of Succession masterfully built up why it was time for the patriarch of the Roy family, Logan (Brian Cox), to step down as CEO of WayStar RoyCo. His risky corporate moves, erratic behavior, and stubbornness were alienating
his Board of Directors. In turn, they attempted to set up a Vote of No Confidence to oust him, led by his own son Kendall (Jeremy Strong).
However, Logan proved that he didn’t become a successful businessman without being ruthless. Setting the tone for the rest of the series, the tense and suspenseful lead up to the vote, as well as the heartbreaking twist result of the “Vote
of No Confidence” showed how much this show was capable of peak drama.
Season 2: Boar on the Floor
There’s a rat–or more accurately a “pig–amongst the ranks. Someone revealed private information regarding Logan to an unauthorized biographer, and in a cruel display of power and manipulation, Logan decides to suss out who exactly
betrayed him by playing a “game” of Boar on the Floor. The disgusting display of power showed us that Logan is too far gone in his ways.
Season 3: Unity

Season 3 gave us a glimpse of what a united front between the Roy siblings would look like, only for it to be thwarted by their father Logan–not to mention the surprising betrayal of their mother Caroline (Harriet Walter) and Shiv’s estranged
husband Tom (Matthew Macfayden). The drama never ends with the Roy family, but the rare glimpses of unity between the Roy siblings has always been heartwarming. For the first time in the series, there’s hope that they’re done being tormented
by their father and are finally facing him together.
Season 4: The Roy siblings are finally looking their best

Having a manipulative father like Logan Roy damaged the Roy siblings in immeasurable ways. Logan broke Kendall so badly that he reverted back to his drug addiction at the end of the first season. All three siblings, at different points in time, were made
to believe that they can be their father’s successor, only for Logan to take it away from them. When Season 4 rolled around, the Roy children are all looking like they’re finally ready to step out of their father’s shadow. Kendall
is seen snacking on sunflower seeds, a go-to snack for recovering drug addicts, building hope for the return of a sober Kendall. For the first time, Shiv and Roman also seemed like they were free from needing their father’s approval, and we
couldn’t be happier for the siblings.
