June is always an exciting month for Apple fanatics, thanks to the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This year’s edition did not disappoint, with the tech company unveiling several exciting updates—mixed reality, anyone? – including the much-anticipated iPadOS 17.
Can’t wait for the upgrade? Here’s a list of features iPad owners can expect when the latest iPadOS drops in Fall (between September to November) 2023.
A redesigned, useful Lock Screen
From Apple Official Website
Your iPad is about to look more like an iPhone with a customizable lock screen. Select your favorite photos and stylize them however you want—select a picture from your personal library, choose a dynamic set that shuffles through the day, or a Live
Photo for a smooth slow-motion effect whenever you wake the iPad.
Like the iPhone, you can choose from different colors and fonts to customize the look of the date and time, or create unique designs with your favorite emojis and color combos. Live Activities is also coming to the iPad so that you can get real-time updates
on sports games, travel plans, or your food delivery order.
Smarter widgets
From Apple Official Website
Want to turn on the lights, play a song, or mark a reminder as complete? On iPadOS 17, you can do all that right from a widget. Interactive widgets will be available on the Home and Lock Screens and are designed to blend seamlessly with the wallpaper
using adaptive tinting.
Smoother and easier PDF experience
From Apple Official Website
The Notes app gets a significant update, making it easier to work with PDFs. These now appear full width on your iPad, so you can organize, read, annotate, and collaborate directly on the PDF using your Apple Pencil. Review and mark PDFs and share real-time
updates with other users when you share the note using live collaboration. Plus, entering information in PDFs is now more convenient—users can add details like names, addresses, and emails straight from their Contacts.
Be more productive with Safari
From Apple Official Website
Apple has improved its system browser by introducing Profiles, so users can separate their browsing history into different topics like Work, Personal, and more. Each profile gets its own history, cookies, Tab Groups, and Favorites, and switching from
one to another is a cinch.
Browsing for your eyes only? Now you can lock the window you’re viewing in Private Browsing with Face ID or Touch ID and remove trackers used for cross-site tracking!
The Health app comes to the iPad
From Apple Official Website
After a long wait, the Health app will finally arrive on iPadOS 17. Get insights on your health data with Trends, Highlights, and detailed interactive charts. Like its iOS counterpart, you’ll also be able to track and manage your medications,
use Cycle Tracking, log your momentary emotions and daily moods, view health records, and more.
