The 74th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, streamed live and exclusive on Lionsgate Play on September 13, recently awarded the Television Academy’s picks for the best shows from the past year. (You can still watch the show on Lionsgate Play for the rest of the month!) A total of four HBO Original titles swept several categories, including Outstanding Drama Series. Here’s a look at the series that dominated in this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards!

Succession

Succession already won big prior to the actual ceremonies, with a total of 25 nominations across all Emmy categories. Over half of its nominations are for its ultra-talented cast; in fact, the HBO Original now holds the Emmy record for most acting nominations in one year with 14.
By the end of the ceremony, Succession clinched three Emmys for the Drama Series categories, including Outstanding Drama Series. The series also won Outstanding Supporting Actor for Matthew Macfadyen, and Outstanding Writing for Jesse Armstrong.
Succession is a family drama centered around the Roy family, owners of the global media and entertainment conglomerate Waystar RoyCo. With the patriarch, Logan Roy (Brian Cox), suffering from poor health, Roy’s children—Connor (Alan Ruck), Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Sarah Snook), all scheme to push for control of the company their father built. The White Lotus

Getting the distinction as the most nominated limited series this year, The White Lotus is also the second most nominated title in this year’s Emmys with 20 total nominations.
The White Lotus swept all their major nominations, taking home five Emmys in the Limited Series categories. In addition, it also won Outstanding Limited Series, as well as Outstanding Supporting Actor for Murray Bartlett, Outstanding Supporting Actress for Jennifer Coolidge, and both Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Directing for series co-creator Mike White.
Set during the span of a week, The White Lotus is a dark comedy anthology series that follows various guests of the titular White Lotus resort as they try to relax and rejuvenate in paradise, only to quickly build tension with the hotel staff. Hacks

Hacks is once again a big winner at the Emmys, as its lead actress Jean Smart officially becomes a back-to-back Emmy winner for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. The series also garnered a total of 17 nominations across all Emmy categories.
Hacks is a comedy that centers around the relationship between legendary comedienne Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and up-and-coming comedy writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), following their growing bond as they help each other grow. Euphoria

Only behind Game of Thrones as the most-watched HBO series to date, the Emmys certainly made this teen drama’s fanbase happy with its 16 nominations. The Television Academy made them even happier by awarding the show’s lead, Zendaya, the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series!
