The runway is part and parcel of every RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise. Every week, the drag queens dress up and play up their make-up, design, and even sewing skills to create show-stopping looks based on a particular theme for the episode.

In Drag Race Philippines, which you can stream on HBO Go with PLDT Home, the runway is one of the ways our local queens showcase their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent–proof that Filipino ingenuity and creativity are world-class!

These runway looks got us gagging!

Here’s the lowdown on our favorite Drag Race Philippines runway looks so far and why we find them sickening!

Plantita eleganza: Viñas Deluxe in Sagalamazon
From
Episode 2: Sagalamazon

This is definitely a look a true-blue (or green?) plantita would wear! Viñas plays up the foliage and flowers in this delightfully campy, gorgeous, haute couture look. Earlier in the episode, the other queens were laughing at her design-in-progress, even throwing shade at her! Despite that, Viñas came out on top, besting the rest of the queens’ sagala looks for that week. Winner!

Fiercely fresh: Minty Fresh in Terno She Betta Don’t!

From Episode 1: Mabu-heeey!

Minty Fresh is ready to slay the competition with this Santi Obcena terno (Filipiniana dress) inspired by the Minokawa, a dragon-like bird in Philippine folklore. Legend has it that this creature is big enough to swallow the sun, causing eclipses. “In this competition,” Minty said, “the spotlight is mine, and the darkness is for everyone.” Slay, kween!

Lady is a vamp: Eva Le Queen in Terno She Betta Don’t!

From Episode 1: Mabu-heeey!

Eva Le Queen delivers looks that are stunning, luxurious, and opulent. True to form, her chartreuse Ehrran Montoya dress is a modern take on the terno. Eva goes on to reveal that her look was inspired by Lady Tremaine, Cinderella’s evil stepmother, played by Cate Blanchett. Long live Le Queen!

Mother of pearls: Marina Summers in Perlas ng Silanganan
From Episode 4:
OPM Divas: The Rusical

In line with her summery and tropical brand, Marina Summers flawlessly pulled off this beautiful beaded Kian Pascual dress with an ocean-inspired train. “Out of all the girls, you took a risk and used color in your presentation of pearls,” Jiggly Caliente, one of the Drag Race Philippines main judges, told Marina. Her risk definitely paid off, as this is one of the most iconic looks of the season!

Summers turned to spring: Marina Summers in Pink Pak Boom!
From
Episode 5: Miss Shutacca

That Wednesday, the queens wore pink—and Marina played up the glam and camp with this chic Richard Quinn-inspired outfit designed by Jhaymer Liu and Kian Pascual. This look and her performance at that episode’s Maxi Challenge garnered Marina her first win for the season!

Rag-tastic: Minty Fresh in Divi Divas
From Episode 7:
Shop Shop Ladies Ball

Further cementing her status as a look queen, Minty Fresh transformed basahan into a Chanel-inspired runway look that she designed and created herself. Her outfit received high praise from the judges that week. This iconic lewk definitely cleaned up the competition, as Minty grabbed her second win for the season!

Two are better than one: Xilhouete and Xhadow in Drag Family Ru-semblance
From Episode 8:
Twinning!

This episode won us all over with the queens being reunited with their loved ones and transforming them into members of their drag family–but Xilhouete and her real-life partner Xhadow bested the rest with their eclectic and artistic delivery. It’s elegant, high-fashion, and simply x-quisite!
