Smart glasses are becoming the next best thing in smart wearable devices. And no, we’re not just talking about E.D.I.T.H., the high-tech specs Peter Parker wore!

The future is in plain sight with smart glasses

Google began the initial foray into smart glasses in 2013, but it wasn’t well received by the mainstream market. Since then, other companies have tried making their own iterations of this device, with more features added to the mix.

What exactly are smart glasses, and how do they work? Will it be the next item to add to your growing WiFi 6-powered smart home?

A glimpse into the future of wearable tech

Smart glasses are wearable devices that offer myriad functions–some have augmented reality (AR) capabilities, while others serve as a visual extension of your smartphone. Through these devices, you can answer messages, make calls, stream videos, play games, listen to music, use GPS navigation, and even take photos and videos. Most models can be connected via Bluetooth or WiFi, but older models rely on USB-C cables to connect with your other devices.

Other than your smartphone, smart glasses can be controlled by tap control, speech recognition, gestures, eye-tracking, or any combination of each.

Pricing is yet to be announced.
