PLDT HOME REWARDS PROGRAM
PRIVACY NOTICE

PLDT Inc. (“PLDT” or “We”) respects your fundamental right to privacy, and we commit to take great care in safeguarding your personal data. In compliance with the Data Privacy Act, we share with you the principles that govern how your personal data will be collected and processed as you join and maintain your membership to the PLDT Home Rewards Program (the “Program”).

Why we collect and process your Personal Data

  1. We collect and process your personal data to register your membership to the Program.
    1. New PLDT Home Customers

      When you apply for a new PLDT Home service account, you may already signify your interest to join the Program and link your new Service Account Number to your membership through the PLDT Home Customer Application Form or “CAF”.

      Once your Service has been successfully installed, you will be notified via SMS to complete your PLDT Home Rewards Program registration through https://rewards.pldthome.com/login. Simply enter (1) the Mobile Number you submitted in the CAF, and (2) the One-Time Pin (“OTP”) that will be sent for your security, in order to activate your membership.

    2. Existing PLDT Home Subscribers

      If you are an existing PLDT Home Subscriber and wish to register to the Program, simply go to https://pldthome.com/loyalty-and-rewards, click “Sign-Up”, and enter your Full Name, PLDT Home Service Account Number or Telephone Number, Mobile Number, and the OTP.

      Only the Subscriber-on-Record (or “SOR”) of the Service Account Number may register to the Program. If the Full Name you provide does not match the Service Account Number or Telephone Number in our records, your registration will not be accepted.

    3. Previous MVP Rewards Members

      If you were a member of the now defunct MVP Rewards with an enrolled PLDT Home Service Account Number, your membership will be transferred to the new PLDT Home Rewards Program.

      • If you are the SOR of the previously enrolled Service Account Number, simply visit https://rewards.pldthome.com/login and enter (1) the Mobile Number linked to your PLDT Home account, and (2) the One-Time Pin (“OTP”) that will be sent for your security, to transfer and activate your membership to the PLDT Home Rewards Program.
      • If you are not the SOR of the previously enrolled Service Account Number, you will need to email the following personal data to homerewards@pldt.com.ph: (1) your MVP Rewards information (i.e., MVP Rewards member name and mobile number), and (2) your PLDT Home account information (i.e., Service Account Number previously enrolled, Full Name of the SOR, and Mobile Number linked to your PLDT Home account). If the Full Name of the SOR does not match the Service Account Number or Telephone Number in our records, your membership will not be transferred.

      Once you have successfully registered your membership to the Program, you may link other PLDT Home Service Account Numbers to your profile by providing your additional Service Account Number or Telephone Number. You must be the SOR of these Service Accounts to add these to your Program membership.

  2. We collect and process your personal data to give you access and control over the personal data you maintain in your member profile.

    You have the option of enriching your profile by providing additional personal data to PLDT, such as (A) your Email Address, (B) your Location (i.e., the city where you live), and (C) your Birthday. These will be used by PLDT to enhance and personalize your Program experience.

  3. We collect and process data about how you use your linked PLDT Home Service Accounts to generate the rewards points or “Crystals” that your Program membership has earned.

    The network activities of all PLDT Home Service Accounts that you have successfully linked to your Program membership will be tracked for the purpose of awarding the Crystals that you have earned. You may visit https://pldthome.com/loyalty-and-rewards-mechanics to learn about the ways by which you can earn Crystals.

  4. We process your personal data for optional purposes and activities. We only proceed with the performance of these activities when you give your specific consent for us to do so.
    • We analyze your personal data, such as your membership profile and service usage information, so that we may create a personal profile about you to get a deeper understanding of your needs and preferences and offer you a better Program experience:
      • We will analyze data about how you use your PLDT Home Service Accounts so that we may intelligently recommend the best ways for you to earn Crystals.
      • We will analyze the general redemption behavior of all Program members (including yours) so that we may improve the rewards and items you may redeem using your Crystals.
      • We will use the location information you provide in your profile to generate insights on redemption partners and items to onboard that would be more accessible to you.
    • From time to time, we may send you personalized marketing and promotional messages relating to your Program membership via SMS and/or email.
    You can choose to provide or withdraw your consent from these activities at any time by sending an email request to homerewards@pldt.com.ph. You may also independently manage your consent preferences by visiting https://www.pldt.com.ph/ConsentPortal/accept-proceed.aspx.

Why your Personal Data is shared

PLDT has engaged the services of its subsidiary, Smart Communications, Inc. (“SMART”), for the management and technical operations of the Program. SMART has further outsourced the development of the system that powers the Program to its subcontractor, SMS GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (“SMSGT”). When your personal data is disclosed to SMART and SMSGT (collectively, our “Service Providers”), we ensure that it is done on a confidential basis, through secure channels, and in compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations. Only personnel with a need to know will have access to your data.

PLDT has also partnered with Digital Advantage Corporation (“DAC”), the owner and operator of the SM Advantage Club or “SMAC”, to give you the option to exchange your Crystals for SMAC points. There will be no personal data sharing between PLDT and DAC, but should you choose to exchange your Crystals for SMAC points, your personal data will be processed in accordance with DAC’s Privacy Policy. How we protect your Personal Data

The integrity, confidentiality, and security of your personal data are important to us. That’s why we strictly enforce our privacy statement within PLDT and have implemented technical, organizational, and physical security measures that are designed to protect your information from unauthorized or fraudulent access, alteration, disclosure, misuse, and other unlawful activities. These are also designed to protect your information from other natural and human dangers.

We require our Service Providers to implement the same security measures.

Your rights and choices

The Data Privacy Act gives you certain rights to your Personal Data. Subject to exceptions under the law, you are entitled to request:

  1. Access to the Personal Data we process about you;
  2. Rectification of your Personal Data if it is found to be outdated, inaccurate, or incomplete;
  3. Erasure of your Personal Data in cases where it is no longer needed to achieve the legitimate purpose of its processing;
  4. Restriction of processing of your Personal Data in limited circumstances;
  5. Portability of your Personal Data so that you may receive a copy thereof or that we transmit the same to another company on your behalf.

Depending on the circumstances, such as when we process your personal data based on your consent, you may also have the right to object to the processing thereof. If you believe that your data privacy rights have been violated and—depending on the circumstances—you may be entitled to be indemnified for damages, we encourage you to contact SMART’s Data Privacy Office to resolve your complaint. You also have the right to complain directly to the National Privacy Commission or otherwise make a claim against SMART before a competent court.

From time to time, we may update this policy to respond to the changes in applicable laws, regulatory requirements, technologies, protocols, industry best practices and business purposes.
