Did you know that some of your Hollywood faves can sing–and do it really well? Some of them have even released songs!
We’re not just talking about musicians-turned-actors, or actor-singers such
as Jennifer Lopez, Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino), and Jack Black. We’re talking about bonafide movie stars who also have “recording artist” in their resumes. Here are four actors who we think have underrated discographies!
Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx is an award-winning actor who won an Oscar for portraying the legendary musician Ray Charles in the biopic Ray, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that the fantastic Mr. Foxx has an amazing voice. What might be less known is that
he’s also a multi-platinum R&B artist. He’s collaborated with the likes of Kanye West, Drake, and Ne-Yo; his albums Unpredictable and Intuition have topped the US and UK R&B charts; and “Blame
It”, his collab with T-Pain, stayed at the top spot on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts for 14 weeks. Watch Jamie Foxx flex his
vocal and acting chops by streaming Ray on HBO Go powered by PLDT Home.
Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling’s entertainment career began in the 1990s, being part of the children’s variety show The Mickey Mouse Club–however, he only pursued music after being tagged a Hollywood heartthrob. Wanting to separate his fame in
acting from his musical endeavors, Gosling used the alias “Baby Goose” when he performed as one half of the musical duo Dead Man’s Bones. His love for music has been evident in some of his choices of roles, playing struggling musicians
on La La Land and Blue Valentine–both of
which are available on Lionsgate Play with PLDT Home.
Brie Larson
Brie Larson has been acting since she was eight years old, but it may come as a surprise that she was also a recording artist at the age of 11! In 2005, she released “Finally Out of P.E.”, her first and only LP, and her single “She Said”
appeared on the Billboard Hot Singles chart. Although the marvelous Ms. Larson hasn’t gone back to music, she
does have one role that allowed her to show all of us her singing prowess—as Envy Adams in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Check out this cult classic on HBO Go with PLDT Home.
Bruce Willis

That’s a name you probably didn’t expect! That’s right, the usually badass and brooding roles that Bruce Willis takes on belie the blues and soul musician underneath. Other than recording songs for the official soundtracks of his earlier
films, Bruce Willis’ debut album, The Return of Bruno, peaked at number 14 on the Billboard 200 charts. Although he doesn’t sing for majority of his roles, you can hear his singing talents in the K-Drama Something In The Rain,
where his cover of “Save the Last Dance for Me” is played frequently in the series. Meanwhile, you can watch Bruce Willis in action in Red and Red 2 exclusively on Lionsgate Play with PLDT Home.
