Add these film soundtracks to your playlist!

A movie won’t be complete without its soundtrack–and most of the time, the songs from these films stay with us much longer.

Check out these films with memorable soundtracks from Lionsgate Play, available exclusively to all active PLDT Home subscribers on Plans 1699 and up until June 1, 2023. You’ll be LSS-ing with us in no time!

Twilight wasn’t just a major blockbuster when the film first came out in 2008. Its soundtrack debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart—even before the film’s actual release. Twilight’s soundtrack also includes songs from alt-rock favorites Collective Soul, Linkin Park, and Mutemath. “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” by indie-folk artist Iron & Wine was even personally chosen for inclusion by Kristen Stewart, who played Bella Swan.

The Twilight soundtrack, and its lead single, “Decode” by Paramore, was nominated for the 2010 Grammy Awards. The album’s success paved the way for the rest of the soundtracks in the franchise to rank on the Billboard charts in succeeding years.

The soundtrack to Silver Linings Playbook has something for everyone–its main theme, “Silver Lining” by Jessie J, is definitely a bop you’ll want to dance to. The album also features Stevie Wonder’s classic hit “My Cherie Amour, ” rock banger “What Is and What Should Never Be” by legendary rock icons Led Zeppelin, and the eclectic “Maria” by The Dave Brubeck Quartet. As if that isn’t enough, the film includes musical scoring by Danny Elfman, known for composing music for other Hollywood films such as Good Will Hunting, Men in Black, and Big Fish.

The film and its lead actor, Bradley Cooper, received Academy Award nominations for Best Picture and Best Actor in 2013. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence bagged the Best Actress Award that same year.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which came out in 2012, has a feel-good soundtrack with hits that are ideal additions to any playlist. Fans of the film would quip that the album adds to the film’s overall authenticity and emotional impact. It was released a month before the film debuted, and peaked at #7 on Billboard’s Top Soundtracks chart.

The soundtrack includes “Temptation” by New Order, “Daydream Nation” from Sonic Youth, and “Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Crowded House. Of course, the album also includes “Heroes” by David Bowie, the music behind the film’s iconic tunnel scene.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack serves as the official companion album for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. This fiery collection includes songs from Coldplay, Sia, Christina Aguilera, The National, Lorde, and Imagine Dragons. “Atlas,” written and performed by Coldplay, served as the album’s title track, and is one of four songs to be used in the actual movie. The album peaked at #5 on Billboard’s 200 albums chart in 2013, and also placed fifth on Billboard’s year-end US Soundtracks chart.

Nobody puts ‘Baby’ in the corner, and nobody puts this film’s soundtrack in the corner either. In Dirty Dancing, “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes certainly capture the culmination of Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) and Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman’s (Jennifer Grey) love story. The rest of the tracklist, including “Be My Baby” by The Ronettes and “Hungry Eyes” by Eric Carmen, serves as the perfect accompaniment to this once-in-a-lifetime story of finding true love.
