Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Rom-com)

Are you looking for a wonderful fusion of “kilig” and comedy? Then, search no further because A-1 Pictures’ Kaguya-sama: Love is War is here to entertain you and your family.

Just like a majority of anime out there, the setting for this series takes place in high school, more specifically at Shuchiin Academy, which is considered the top school for successful and wealthy families. Here we are met with two geniuses that embark on over-the-top schemes to get the other to confess their love first. Because, as the title directs, love is indeed war.

The series is wonderfully constructed from outstanding voice acting to music composition; especially with its banging OP for all three seasons. I mean, take a listen to the series’ opening theme. Watch Kaguya-sama: Love is War on Viu Premium with PLDT Home.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Isekai)

The rise of reincarnation-themed anime has skyrocketed over the past few years. However, one of the series that stands among the top-picked titles is That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Initially, I overlooked this title for quite some time because the idea of slime being the protagonist was weird. Oh, I was wrong, but I am glad to accept that.

The anime revolves around a 37-year-old corporate worker named Satoru Mikami who lived a monotonous life until he was stabbed. He was then transported into a different world but in the form of a feeble slime; named Rimuru. Note that feeble will only be used once to describe him because he grows undoubtedly stronger throughout the series as heads out to free his dragon companion.

Watching one episode is definitely not enough because this anime will suck you into its compelling and immersive world. It consists of well-written characters and an outstanding plot line. Thankfully, you can enjoy this masterpiece and the glory of its three seasons right here on Viu Premium via PLDT Home. Stream That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime here.

Haikyuu (Sports)

Get ready to laugh, cry, and be inspired as you engage in a series that shows the challenges of becoming a top competing team in Japan. Haikyuu follows a volleyball-obsessed and short Shoyo Hinata who enters Karasuno High School. He then joins the school team and undergoes the essence of what it truly means to attain the volleyball spirit.

This series has a simple premise but has been executed perfectly in animation, musical scoring, and pacing. It has a balanced blend of slice-of-life and intense volleyball matches; almost to a point where it feels like you are watching a live match. I, for one, have experienced tearing up in heartwarming moments, and I highly recommend keeping a box of tissues close by. Who knows, you might also share emotions and end up bawling your eyes out. Watch Haikyu on Viu Premium via PLDT Home.

Demon Slayer (Shounen)

Everyone loves a good character build-up story, having someone to root for especially when they are at their weakest. Now, if you want a mix of both demons and swords into the formula, then you must try watching Demon Slayer.

Imagine yourself living in a world where demons sit at the apex of the food chain, where humans have to live in fear of being the next meal for a hungry demon—terrifying huh? This unfortunately was the case for Tanjiro Kamado, whose family was slaughtered by Muzan Kibutsuji.

As you traverse this ecstatic anime, you begin to unravel and understand the position of both the slayer and the demon. A story that focuses on the blurred lines of who the enemy truly is. Begin your Demon Slayer journey here at Viu Premium via PLDT Home.

Re: ZERO (Psychological)

We’ve given an option for a romantic comedy, isekai, and even sports. Now, we provide an option that takes a different turn towards the dark side. Don’t get me wrong; the cast is fluffy and lovable. However, the plotline that structures itself beneath the world of Subaru, the main protagonist, is inherently grim.

Re:ZERO is a series that will lure you in for more—literally. Sometimes watching it once isn’t enough and requires time and analysis to truly get the objective of the episode. The one heavy aspect that makes this anime psychological is because of Subaru’s special ability that allows him to go back to a certain point in time, but only before his death, all while keeping his knowledge until that point. If you enjoy the darker side of things and likes to place your thinking caps on, this anime is a must-watch. Its chilling theme is truly splendid once you get yourself invested. Re:ZERO is available for viewing here at Viu Premium with PLDT Home.

Viu has a growing list of anime shows that will keep you entertained for hours on end. Better keep our list in mind when scrolling through!
