In line with PLDT’s vision of a “Connected Home”, the MVP-owned telco launched an add-on service called TVolution which turns a subscriber’s regular idiot box into a powerful gateway to tons of contents on demand through the PLDT HOME Fibr connection.
TVolution refers to both the service and small peculiar device (as seen below) that makes it possible. The device, which is officially coined as the MediaQ M310, is manufactured by Huawei and pairs to your TV via HDMI.
Seeing and holding the Huawei M310 for the first time, we were impressed by how Huawei was able to fit everything in such a miniscule device the size of a matchbox. In addition to two regular HDMI ports (In and Out), there’s a pair of full-size USB 2.0 ports, MicroSD and MicroUSB (for power) slots, as well as SPDIF/3.5mm jack.
But that’s the tip of the iceberg. Inside the M310 packs a quad-core HiSilicon K3V2 processor
with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage which hosts the custom version of the Android Jelly bean. The device is also equipped with a chip for wireless connectivity which further expands its functionalities.
