The next generation Wi-Fi solution from Google
Our goal is to give people great Wi-Fi in their homes and to solve many of the everyday problems people encounter with home Wi-Fi. With Google Wifi, we’re creating a system that provides seamless coverage for homes of any shape or size. New features will continue to be added to all of our Wi-Fi devices via automatic updates.

A new kind of home Wi-Fi system
Using a single router to spread signal throughout your whole home is like expecting one light bulb to light up every room. Walls and distance make it difficult for a single router to send a strong signal to every room in your home, which can result in slow Wi-Fi and dead zones.

With Google Wifi, you can place multiple Wifi “points” in different rooms for strong Wi-Fi in every corner of your home. We recommend putting them out in the open, about two rooms apart.

The system uses a technology called mesh Wi-Fi. Within our mesh network, each Google Wifi point creates a high-powered connection, and they work together to determine the best path between points for your data (no Ethernet cables required). The result is Wi-Fi coverage throughout your house, not just right next to the router. You can even roam through your house while on a video call or streaming a movie.

Fits homes of any shape or size
A three-pack Google Wifi covers homes up to 2,700 sq. ft (251 sq. m).* If you want to expand coverage further -- like if you move to a larger home, or want signal on the balcony-- simply add on another Wifi point and they’ll work together seamlessly.

Built to handle all your Wi-Fi needs
Today’s Wi-Fi hungry homes need a solution that can handle high bandwidth activities such as 4K streaming and online HD gaming in every room in our home. Put your Google Wifi system to the test by streaming, downloading, and gaming simultaneously in multiple rooms and try streaming that HD video at the edge of your home. Google Wifi is designed to help ensure that you can stream up to five 4K video streams simultaneously at the furthest reaches of your home (if your internet package can handle it).

Manages your network so you never have to
Most of the time, you don’t want to worry about adjusting router settings. Network Assist is advanced Google software that’s always working in the background, adjusting complex settings to keep your signal fast. If it discovers congestion from nearby devices, it will switch you to a clearer Wi-Fi channel. If it sees a stronger, faster connection, it will help your device roam to the better Wifi point. And Network Assist will automatically select the fastest band for your devices. The result is seamlessly strong Wi-Fi. You can always check the Network Assist tab within the app to see if the system has made any adjustments.

Offers help when you need it
Network Assist offers simple insights to help you get the most out of your Wi-Fi, and helps you quickly resolve issues if they arise. For example, it can tell you if you could get faster speeds by moving one of your Google Wifi points, or alerts you if your ISP has gone offline.

A simple way to control what matters
For times when you want to control your network, we make it easy through our companion app.** From the start, the app helps get you online with simple step-by-step instructions. Once you’re online, the app allows you to do things like easily find and share your password, see what devices are connected, and even prioritize a device for the fastest speeds when it matters most.

Know where the bottlenecks are
The app not only shows you the speed of your internet connection and its quality between the access points, but also how each individual device is performing on your Wi-Fi network. So if that new smart TV in the bedroom is constantly buffering, you can check its connection through the Google Wifi app, which will help you pinpoint the exact bottleneck. Then, you’ll know to call your ISP, move your Google Wifi point closer to that device, or even move the device itself for a stronger connection.

Pause Wi-Fi on kids’ devices
Through the Google Wifi app, you can press pause on kids’ devices, like during bedtime or dinnertime, and with the Scheduled Pause feature you can create recurring times to pause the internet.

Passwords made easy
The Google Wifi app makes it easy to find and share your password while keeping your system secure. You can easily text or email your password to friends, family or guests. Say goodbye to the days of lost passwords!

Helpful customer support
If you ever need help with your Google Wifi system, we’re here for you. Google support agents are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

*Home materials and layout can affect how Wi-Fi signal travels. Homes with thicker walls or long, narrow layouts may need extra Wifi points for full coverage. Google Wifi requires broadband Internet. Strength and speed of signal will depend on your Internet provider. The above recommendation for number of Wifi points is just a guide.

**The app requires a mobile device with Android 4 and up or iOS 8 and up.

Each Wifi point requires a nearby electrical outlet.
