Sulit Talk Decommissioning FAQs

Why is Sulit Talk going to be decommissioned?

PLDT Home is retiring its NGN or copper facilities so that we can migrate our broadband facilities to Fiber, allowing us to provide our customers the best online experience possible. Since Sulit Talk runs on copper, we will need to retire the service as well.

Why are you retiring your NGN or copper facilities?

NGN or copper facilities are being retired as this is very old technology and we can no longer guarantee that we will be able to provide support and quality service for the services running on copper. We are focusing on replacing all our copper facilities with Fiber, which is the latest and best technology for wired broadband services today.

Why can’t my Sulit Talk line be migrated to Fiber?

Unfortunately, since its quite an old service, Sulit Talk is designed to run only on copper facilities.

When is decommissioning going to happen?

Sulit Talk is scheduled to be decommissioned by January 15, 2023.

Will the service change before the decommissioning?

You will be able to enjoy incoming and outgoing calls with your Sulit Talk account as long as you have a valid subscription plan, until the service is decommissioned on January 15, 2023.

Please note though that you will not be able to add regular load to your account, starting December 2, 2022.

LOADING

Since loading will be disabled on December 2, how am I expected to use my Sulit Talk account if I don’t have regular load balance?

We will credit FREE P300 regular load to your Sulit Talk account on December 2, 2022, to help you during this transition period. You may convert this load to a Sulit Talk subscription plan or you may charge your excess local calls, NDD, IDD or mobile calls to the mentioned amount.

FREE P300 LOAD

When will I receive my FREE P300 load?

We will credit FREE P300 regular load to your Sulit Talk account on December 2, 2022.

How long will the FREE P300 load be valid?

The FREE P300 load will be valid until the service is decommissioned on January 15, 2023.

What can I use the FREE P300 load for?

You may convert this load to a Sulit Talk subscription plan or you may charge your excess local calls, NDD, IDD or mobile calls to the mentioned amount. To convert it into a Sulit Talk subscription plan, just dial the access code (101263) and the amount (300).

What if I’m unable to use the FREE P300 load given to me before decommissioning? Can this be refunded?

The P300 load we will issue is valid only until the service is available and it will be forfeited, whether used or ununsed, once the service is decommissioned. It is non-refundable, non-transferrable and not convertible to cash.

EXISTING LOAD BALANCE

I already loaded my Sulit Talk account with regular load intended for use until 2023. What will happen to my unconsumed load once Sulit Talk is decommissioned?

If you have unused regular load (apart from the P300 from PLDT) by the time Sulit Talk is decommissioned, you may request for any of the following:

  • Transfer of balance to your preferred PLDT Home account
  • Refund of balance to be credited to your maya or GCash account

Request for transfer of balance or refund may be submitted to PLDT starting the day after Sulit Talk is decommissioned, which is January 16, 2023, through 171 or PLDT Home’s Social Media Accounts.

How will I know the amount I am eligible to transfer or refund?

A day before the January 15, 2023 decommissioning, you may perform balance inquiry on your Sulit Talk account to know the remaining amount on your account. Just dial 10122.

Please note that only remaining unused regular or e-load may be transferred or refunded. This will not include load already converted to a valid Sulit Talk subscription Plan.

Is there a deadline for request of refund or transfer of balance?

Yes, you may request for refund or transfer of balance from January 16, 2023 to March 31, 2023.

If I request for transfer of balance, does the PLDT account have to be mine?

You may nominate any active PLDT Home account to transfer your Sulit Talk balance to.

May I request for my balance to be transferred to a PLDT Enterprise or Smart account?

No, Sulit Talk balance may only be transferred to any active PLDT Home Account. Transfer of balance cannot be made to a PLDT enterprise or a Smart Account.

I don’t have a maya or GCash account, how else can I get my refund?

We only dispense refunds via maya or GCash. It’s very easy to open a maya or GCash account. Just download the maya or GCash app via Google Playstore or Apple Store and follow the instructions on the app.

SUBSCRIPTION PLAN

What if I have a valid subscription plan during the time of the decommissioning? Will I be able to request for transfer of balance or refund for this?

Load that has been converted to an active subscription plan is no longer valid for refund. If you have an active subscription plan at the time of the decommissioning, it will be forfeited.
